Lily and the Dragon's Ghost is the hottest new dragon book on the market. A book for all ages, it's a mystery-fantasy with ghosts, apparitions and other unknown creatures in pursuit of a crown which has been rumored to hold within its touch the ability to give the being who possesses it, whether it be human or otherwise, eternal life on earth. Lily and her best friend Ophelia along with their quirky friend, Bob, are on the hunt for the crown so they can give it to the rightful owner.
Puffing hot, sulfuric smoke from its flared nostrils, the dragon slithered its green scaly head along the edge of Lily and Ophelia's bed.
"Lily Quinn?" its voice grated like stone-against-stone from deep within its huge chest, "open your eyes," the dragon hesitated a few seconds.
"Now!" the beast demanded with its pursed lips pressed tightly against Lily's ear.
With her stomach shaking violently and her heart thrashing against her chest, Lily eased her eyes open and stared into the red, glaring eyes of the most horrible beast she had ever seen. She knew it was a dragon for she, with half-closed eyes, had watched the beast slip silently through the closed bedroom door. It was green from head to toe with scales flared up and spiked horns running from the top of its ugly head to the tip of its tail where the horns morphed into a huge barb. Its long snout ended in snubbed fared nostrils.
"Ahhh...yes." The dragon spoke as he slid his head across her face to stare with one red flaming eyeball glaring into her eyes.
"You are the right Lily Quinn. You have the eyes of gold."
He snickered as if to himself.
"I am Bijou. Bijou the Green, you do remember me, don't you? Maybe in your nightmares or even daymares?" he rumbled and arched his long scaly neck back which pushed his massive body out so far it almost moved the bed and flared out its scales until they were standing straight up with little puffs of green smoke emerging from beneath each scale. The beast was so big its body filled most of the room.
He continued speaking without waiting for Lily's reply.
"I have come to give you a message...when the earth trembles, and the cry from Dragon's Mountain echoes across the delta, run to the mountain. You will be expected along with your friends Ophelia and Buster...err, Bufford...err, Oh yes...Bob. Don't forget Bob and don't delay. Come quickly."
With that said, the beast shuffled its massive body around and once again slipped silently through the closed door.
Jumping from their bed, Lily and Ophelia raced to the window, threw up the glass pane and leaning out looked up to the sky. Hundreds of dragons swooped and flew across the night sky.
