The volume is a compendium on the concept and phenomenon of the Classic Modern Age. The complementary contributions by renowned literary scientists provide an expandable documentation of the history of research on the concept of this era, examine the cultural- and literary-historical points of reference of the Classical Modern Age and, based on case studies on Kafka, DAblin, Broch and Musil among others, describe their poetological, philosophical and historical foundations.
