Little Cat's Purpose

A socially isolated and emotionally distant woman offers refuge to 'Little Cat' one stormy night. The grateful stray cat attempts to express love and gratitude to the woman for her generous hospitality but her efforts prove futile. The woman's hardened heart remains closed off. So Little Cat decides it best to stay out of the old woman's way and goes about fulfilling her duty and keeping the mice down.

One day, Little Cat receives a life threatening snake bite and the incident triggers an emotional shift in the woman. As she devotes herself to nursing Little Cat back to health her heart begins to soften. But Little Cat succumbs to the toxic venom and leaves her body during a near death experience. Free from pain, Little Cat follows the light to 'the other side'. But before she crosses the threshold into blissful eternity, she considers the scene below. The woman is devastated and Little Cat realizes just how much the woman needs her. She follows the pull of the woman's love and returns to her physical body.

Little Cat's health is gradually restored and her loving bond with the woman strengthened. The near tragedy ultimately helps the woman to open her heart and let love in and Little Cat discovers that her true purpose extends way beyond chasing mice. Love is her true purpose.
