Living For The Moment

In this memoir he vividly describes living in London at that time, and how he witnessed the almost daily air battles over the city and the devastation caused by enemy bombing. Having enlisted in the army at the age of seventeen, Charles took part in the invasion of Normandy, and gives a first-hand account of the bitter fighting. He went on to be wounded in the attack across the River Rhine.
