If you grew up in the 1950's but have forgotten what it was like this is the book to read.In times when you had time,speed was more like a fast walk,everything got done in its own time.Money was scarce but children were happy,food was plain but flavoursome.Work was hard at home, as well as in the man's job,pay was just enough.Play was enjoyable and unhurried,holidays few,as were parties,Christmas and birthdays the highlights of the year.Growing up was leisurely,unhurried,disciplined,respectful and such a delight,there was no litter,clean streets fresh country air and birds,animals,flowers,butterflies and insects in abundance,nature was enjoyed and respected,but that was then,read what it was like and then look at todays times.
