Look and see is a book which provokes the eagle in you, to challenge you to enjoy the eagle`s view from above, for that's where you belong. Like Abraham the author is saying get out of your tent, look to the north, the south, the east and the west- What do you see?
What really makes the difference in a person`s life? One would think the answer is very obvious, but if it was so, all people would be successful. In Proverbs 29:13 we read these amazing words:
"The poor man and the rich man have this in common; the Lord gives sight to the eyes of both".
This kind of comparison is given twice in the book of Proverbs, first in Proverbs 22:2: "Rich and poor have this in common; the Lord is the maker of them all".
That means that no one had a private origin, neither is anyone the descendent of aliens. We were all created by God whether poor or rich. The raw material of our making and origin is the same.
Sometimes when people become successful, their story is shrouded with fables and legends; others even enjoy the mystical perception about who they are. Yet I assure you they are just people. Everything that they are today, they became. The writer clarifies this truth for, rich or poor is what we became, but God gave each one of us one thing, SIGHT.
The ability to see is what determines others to be rich and some to be poor. No one was born poor neither is there any that was born with a silver spoon in their mouth, they all had saliva.
Greatness is derived from vision or sight. How we see life determines our destiny. Nothing needs greater correction in our lives more than how we see and interpret life. At one time Jesus prayed for someone to recover sight. The man claimed that he saw other people as trees. Jesus had to pray for him again. Jesus never prays for anyone twice, but if your vision is that much distorted, we are not going anywhere.
Vision is the ability to see the future and secure it. God laments in his word that in the absence of it, people cast off restraint, Proverbs 29:18.
The message from the Bible puts this verse in plain language,
"If people CAN'T SEE what God is doing, they stumble all over themselves".
The famous Helen Keller, who was physically blind, was asked what she thought could be worse than being absolutely blind. In reply she said, "...being full sighted and without a vision."
Some years ago it was my joy to share extensively on a message I entitled, "Seeing the invisible."
The story begins with Moses' parents, and is told well in Hebrews 11 vs. 23; " By Faith Moses parents hid him for three months after he was born, because they saw he was no ordinary child, and they were not afraid of the king`s edict"
How do you look at babies and see that this one is ordinary and that one is not ordinary? Moses himself was blessed with the same perception in his journey of life.
"By faith he left Egypt, not fearing the king`s anger, he persevered, because he saw Him who is invisible". Hebrews 11 vs. 27.
