This volume documents the installation at the Cranbrook Art Museum of Lou Reeds Metal Machine Trio, a live ambisonic 3-D sound installation inspired by Reeds controversial 1975 album Metal Machine Music. Reed worked with acoustic specialists to recreate the live experience.
