Love Hurts

Today, my husband killed me. I have been married to Alan for five years, and from the very beginning, he has been abusive towards me. However, I was always convinced that no one would believe me over him, as he is a well-known lawyer. Despite the abuse, I stayed with him and ended up getting pregnant with his child. During that time, he became the sweet man I fell in love with in high school. But tonight, something was different. He became extremely angry over trivial matters and accused me of being unfaithful. He even claimed that the baby was not his and that he had evidence to prove it. I made the mistake of arguing with him, and I paid a heavy price for it. Alan kicked me down a flight of stairs and left me for dead. He nonchalantly went to his office party as if nothing had happened, while I lay on the living room floor, bleeding profusely. Tonight, my husband believed he had murdered me.
