Love of a Marine

Cluny McPherson, deeply discouraged over his struggles with PTSD, watched the ocean on Malibu beach with his service dog.

"Hi, mister."

He greeted the boy walking toward him. "Hi."

"Can I pet your dog?"

Those seven words opened the door to Cluny's future.

"Sure. Queen's friendly. What's your name, son?"

"Santos." The grinning boy knelt in front of the Malinois.

Cluny pointed at the beautiful woman approaching. "Is that your mother?"

"Uh huh."

Something inside him warmed and shifted.
