Sixteen-year-old Farien embarks on a voyage with several other people, seeking to find out why their world, Lunea, is slowly dying of drought.

In ancient times the Moond was rich and green
And many creatures lived among her trees
And named her Earth; Earth of many seas.
Lunea was a dry and airless world,
As white and dead and polished as a bone.
Men called her Moon as in their sky she shone.
