One hundred and ten years ago, in spring 1906, the publisher of the Chicago Tribune commissioned Lyonel Feininger (1871-1956) to develop comic series for the Sunday edition of the newspaper. As a result, from April to November 1906, a new adventure of The Kin-der-Kids, a group of various characters who explore the world in a bathtub, was published each week. From August 1906 to February 1907, a second series was added with Wee Willie Winkie's World, about a boy in whose eyes trees, houses, and clouds, among other things, become human beings. Feininger is therefore one of the pioneers of comic art, and all of the newspaper pages with the corresponding preliminary drawings are presented for the first time in this book.
