Karen Sparks Steinhauser is a writer who dreamed of authoring children's books from an early age. She grew up on a farm in Irvine, Kentucky, with Christian parents; where she learned the value of hard work and right living. Although she got very off track as a young adult, Karen could be the poster child for Proverbs 22:6 (Look it up!)
Karen now resides in Richmond, Kentucky with her honeybunny/husband, Richard. They attend Victory World Outreach Center where they are ever growing and serving in the ministry. They share five children and six grandchildren. God has proven over and over in their lives; He is ever faithful!
Mamie's Shoes is the first book in The Katydid Series. The series is based on actual events that occurred during the childhood of the author, Karen Sparks Steinhauser. Karen has a very close relationship with her sister, Sue. Sue called her Katydid as a child. Each book in the series deals with a life issue that is relevant, even to children today. Each book includes a memory verse along with a black and white photograph from the author's childhood.
