Under the chandelier of a ritzy hotel, Sawyer is torn between two roles. She's the loving wife on a romantic evening with her husband, yet she's the kick-butt homicide detective on a case, with one eye tracking the development of a murder plot involving Chosen, the vixen killer that nearly destroyed Sawyer's marriage.

Meanwhile, Detective Travis protects a corporate whistle-blower from international mercenaries, and Duke's corpse is hours away from being discovered digesting in the belly of the anaconda - all this, and Sawyer has yet to be assigned the perplexing homicide case of a young black woman's murder that is at the crux of all the head scratching crimes plaguing Atlanta. This case, Sawyer takes personally because of how the media disrespects the young black woman in death, so Sawyer is not only out for justice, but to also to put some respect on this young, black female victim's name, when Sawyer learns that the injustice behind this young lady's death is much bigger than she thought. The ante is up higher than ever, yet Sawyer still has to be an excellent mother and a wife. Failure would have cataclysmic social consequences.
