Medicinal Plants of Central Asia

Central Asia home to thousands of endemic plant species and is a center of diversity for wild progenitors of many domesticated agricultural and horticultural species (such as alfalfa, apples, apricots, numerous bean species, flax, garlic, pistachios, sesame, spinach, etc). It is also among the most diverse area for many medicinally and chemically relevant groups of plants, and contains large germplasm pools for many of these important species. This book would complement the editors' Medicinal plants of Central Asia: Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan (Springer), which published in 2013, by documenting a completely different group of plant species in unique landscapes and ecosystems.
