The first novelette, "To Save a Lopsided Sparrow," is the sequel to: "Cornfield Laughter," in Spanish and English, taking the reader into the Great War, the battle for the Village of Douaumont in 1916: with Shannon O'Day, as a French Soldier, and a mad woman in the deserted and demolished village.

The Second Novelette, "The Donkeyland Bums," tells three connecting stories of the author, during his youthful years 1966-1967, as he crisscrosses the United States, with different neighborhood buddies.
