About the authors:
Paul Illingworth began nursing over 35 years ago and has clinical, operational, project and strategic management experience. He became a nurse tutor in 1988 and spent over 12 years in higher education, most latterly as Head of Mental Health and Academic/ Professional Lead for Mental Health Nursing at a North London university. He is currently working as a civil servant and is undertaking a part-time MPhil/PhD in inter-professional education.
Laura Singleton is currently working as a mental health nurse on a childrens mental health unit at Great Ormond Street Hospital, London. Previously she worked with young people with mental health problems in an adolescent unit in Hertfordshire, and also in research with adults with substance misuse problems.
