Nikhil Hariharan, a rookie club-cricketer, is miraculously included in the squad for the upcoming India-Pakistan series after he bowls a dream spell at the nets to star batsman Yajuvendra Singh.
In the first match of the series, Team India is soundly thrashed.
Consequently, some key members are axed for the second game and Nikhil makes his debut. However, the Indian team's fabled batting lets it down yet again.
After the debacle, Nisha, Nikhil's journalist friend, tells him that she believes that the matches in the series are fixed. Shocked and outraged, Nikhil joins Nisha as they launch an investigation, 'Mission Inside Edge', to confirm Nisha's suspicions.
