The History and Ministry of the Anglican/ Episcopal Church in Egypt is influenced by the mission of the Church in the years from 1918 to 1925. The first Challenge was meeting other Christians and assisting them in their mission. The Episcopal Church started with the view to support the Coptic Orthodox Church (the mother church of Egypt). The failure of the early mission and the complication added by the British colonisation called for the establishment of a model Church truly Evangelical/catholic Church. The second challenge was the challenge of Islam. How the church witness to its neighbours? Dialogue, Literature, Drama and training courses were the main tools in conversing with the majority of population to extend the hand of friendship and love. The third challenge was urgent need for social, educational and medical support to the peoples of Egypt. The challenges offer a model for unity, witness, and service for the church in society. These are the same challenges that are facing the Church today. This dissertation will help those who seek a relevant church meeting the contemporary challenges of society.
