Momma Says

Garden Gate Village has lots of quaint houses, all neatly laid out in orderly rows up and down intersecting streets and cul-de-sacs. A world unto itself when you're a kid. Lots and lots of kids playing and learning life's lessons. Momma Says explores how moms use nuggets of spiritual wisdom (based originally on the Bible) that help wee ones to deal with conflict in their young lives. These seeds of wisdom that family members plant in young minds do take root. Jesus has given us His word, His Father's word, on how best to conduct ourselves. Momma Says is twelve short stories of some of the children in our village. This is a book that is meant for parental sharing with their child, ages two through seven. Parental reading aloud to children has been proven to produce wonderful results. The American Academy of Pediatrics "has released guidelines that advise parents to start reading to your child from infancy." According to the source Raising Smart Kids, "A study published in Perspective on Psychological Science in January 2013 concluded that 'reading to a child in an interactive style raises his or her IQ by over 6 points.'" Wow! This semiretired neurological nurse is impressed by that brain power expansion! Not only is reading to our kids fun, it builds literacy skills, confidence, and feeds the soul. Reading is one of the greatest gifts, the author feels, that we can give our wee ones! "That nightly story time, when possible, was always special for my girls and I.
