Multiple Cholecystokinin Receptors in the CNS

The neuropeptide cholecystokinin (CCK) has been implicated in many important physiological processes (eg. control of food intake, pain). It is also thought to be involved in some important diseases of the central nervous system, including anxiety and panic disorders and schizophrenia. This volume summarizes the most recent research on CCK, and has contributions from the leading experts in the field. Prominence is given to important advances made using novel CCK receptor antagonists, which have been valuable research tools and may prove to be useful therapies.
