The author has a Ph.D in Biochemistry from the University of Edinburgh, Scotland. She spent six years as a Training Officer on the Wellcome Trust Genome Campus in Cambridge, England. Her principal role was teaching biologists how to enhance their research by accessing and analysing DNA  data.
