This is a story of a great love between a man and woman, a woman of exceptional character, especially demonstrated through her last forty-four years of her life as Thalia sought through prayer and meditation to improve her conscious spiritual contact. She dedicated herself to helping literally hundreds of men and women by opening doors of escape and unsealing windows for fresh air.
None of the stories or descriptions of Thalia and John are embellished. If anything, the unique nature of their love story defies overstatement, and due to the immensity of Thalia's spirit, it can never be captured with anything as common as mere words.
As time passed, the story expanded to contain our life after August 2018 when Thalia rose to new heights of heroism as she fought against the odds for her very life. Now included are the events following her passing on March 24th 2021 when she continued to supply comfort to John during periods of grief.

Praise for "My Life with Thalia"
"John, your writing absolutely amazes me. I sit, and I read this, and then in all honesty I become slightly jealous. If only every man, every person was as in touch with what it means to be in love. Maybe, just maybe, there would be no war, no hatred towards another human being, no need for women's shelters, or fences between neighbors. Thank you for continuing to share your beautiful writing, your feelings and your heart."

"So many nuggets of wisdom... Thank you for sharing them. [...] I have great admiration for you and your ability to combine past, present, and future."

"John moves effortlessly, with ease and grace, through prose to poetry and back again, proving the age-old adage: it is truly better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all. And in fact, in the end, we find that we have not lost anything, rather we are richer indeed, by far."

"You never know where God is going to take you...

About the Author
John LeCompte was raised in Seattle, Washington before attending and pitching for Stanford University in California. Upon graduating, he entered a career in agribusiness in California's Central Valley. During that career, he attended the Harvard Business School, where he was selected for a program designed for young executives. His career took an abrupt turn in the late 1980's when he began a successful career owning and operating professional minor league baseball teams on the West Coast. John has two sons and two daughters. Having lost one of his daughters, Aimee, and his wife, Thalia, both to intense health struggles, his writing career took form as a combination of grief therapy and a newfound love of creative writing and poetry. It was during his memoir and creative non-fiction writing when he began a rich writing collaboration and friendship with his now wife and soulmate, Adina Lynn LeCompte. They have co-authored several compilations of poetry, including "With These Words, I Thee Wed: Love Poetry" (2023).
