My Memoir

My Memoir is the result of being obedient to God's voice during a very difficult season. The four years after retirement proved to uproot my comfort levels in every area of life. Death became an impediment to valued friendships, Holiday celebrations with family members, and a blissful 43 years of marriage to an amazing husband. Yes, I lost it all and found myself flooded with emotional grief.

As a veteran educator, I always challenged my students to dig deep in order to find the truth about themselves. I discovered that this philosophy reached far beyond the classroom and remains consistent in every decade of life. Excruciating pain tightened the microscope and forced me to intensify my prayer life and study of God's Word. If I hadn't done this, I would've remained overwhelmed with sorrow rather than traveling on a "Journey to New Beginnings."

In this book, you'll discover that you can smile after the tears, have peace after the storm, and walk-through new doors of opportunity after the struggle. While this book is written to document the legacy of the McCoy family, my heart's desire is that the transparent moments shared will help you and your family live a more focused and purposeful life.
