Picture this, you wake up with an instant feeling of dread, what will today bring? This is what Samantha feels every day of her life. She'd prefer to not even wake up, if she were being honest.
Samantha is like any other young girl going through life, however, behind closed doors, she's leading a very different life.
She wakes up knowing that every little thing she does will be judged and broken down, will she say the right thing, do the right thing, wear the right thing? She doesn't know, however, what she does know is that her mother is no longer her mother anymore.
She's a complete stranger living under the same roof. Samantha and her mother used to be close, they used to hug and say 'I love you', now they're miles apart. Torn apart by a man, a man who has convinced her mother that he knows what is best for them.
He's convinced her to join a church, and although there is nothing wrong with religion when you forget who you once were and shift into a new person, that's where the issues start to come in.
Samantha is told to fear God, to call on him in her time of need, but, she gets no answer. She's all alone as she goes to school pretending to be someone she isn't. She's scared and worried as she tries to fight for the life she thinks she deserves, no matter how hard that may be. She won't give up, even if every fiber of her being is begging her to. She has to believe that there is a purpose to her life or else letting go would be her only answer.
She pretends that everything is all right but behind closed doors, nothing is all right.
Nothing is okay and nothing will ever be the same.
