In the Arctic winter Naarlanders sink into unrelenting gloom. Then comes summer. Twenty-four-hour daylight flip-flops Naarlanders between manic optimism and sleep-deprived irritability. Summer is when Naarlanders dissolve into unpredictable temper tantrums.

So begins Per Pedersons laugh-out-loud tale of Arctic chaos. Per thinks hes the only sane Naarlander, but every time he tries to help his fellow Naarlanders he leaves a trail of rubble, ruined lives and destroyed romances.

Plus, hes easily tempted. He loves his wife, but theres her friend Anne. And theres the lovely Olga, although Olga wants to kill Per. In fact, while half Naarlen think Pers a hero, the other half wants Per dead. And whos on which side keeps changing. Its all rather complicated
