One brief century after the Flood, mankind once again rebelled against its Creator. The Tower of Babel represents man's incessant clamoring for sinful independence. In an act of profound mercy, God instead initiates the languages instead of annihilating His tempestuous creation. This stupendous linguistic action led to the creation of the world's various peoples and nations. These two chapters culminate with the introduction of Abraham and God's chosen nation, Israel.
