Adam is a young adult living and struggling in his lower middle class life. He tries his best to provide for his family, the ones that matter to him, while suffering with the trauma he received as a boy, especially from his dad's side of the family. The person he hates the most is his cousin due to some of the severe abuse he got from him. His cousin and uncle used to live next door to them and left once Adam became unbearable as he grew up. He lives with his father, mother and sister. He is constantly fighting with his father ever since his main targets moved away.After the uncle vacated the apartment, a new tenant too their place. It was Howard. Howard is a grieving father who recently lost his child to cancer. He lives with his second wife. He used to be poor in the past and in a way to reconnect to his past self, a life before his loss, he moved into this place. A change in scenery. While there he and his wife interact with Adam's sister, Kathy and her mother, Helen. Kathy used to be Howard's daughter's classmate and even shares a resemblance.These vastly differently families interact with each other and Howard finds himself getting more and more attached to Kathy. Helen also happens to be friendly and Howard can't help but find himself take on a role in their family no one asked him to. He sees the bad things that happened to them and wants to help them, only he doesn't know how to go about his intentions. It does not help matters that his neighbor, mainly Helen, is hiding something from him.Adam doesn't feel good about Howard. There's something about Howard that Adam feels off about. Only Adam is not sure what it is. Howard living in the same place where his abuser lived does not help matters. Neither does the fact that Howard is hiding his wealth and has, what Adam considers, a very young wife. It all columbates in a situation none of them ever expected.
