New Norse Studies

New Norse Studies is a collection of critical essays in Cornell University Librarys venerable Islandica series, a leading voice in Medieval Icelandic Studies since 1908. New Norse Studies features thirteen original contributions on medieval Icelandic literature and society by an international constellation of established and emerging voices in the field. Topics include Norse mythology; skaldic poetics; the proverb, ballad, and exemplum; Biblical typology and saga narrative; psychological, postcolonial, and gender-studies approaches to medieval Icelandic literature; and the Latin background of saga-writing.
