Urban city girl Vanessa Lynn Dickens is young, attractive, and smart. However, as vines can overgrow and suffocate a tree, likewise Vanessa is overtaken with personal challenges that seem impossible to overcome. She lost her mom at age seven and was raised by a grandfather with strong moral convictions. Vanessa made unhealthy decisions that could've cost her a brighter future. She was destined to be an entrepreneur; nevertheless, at 27 years old, she found herself pregnant and single. There were detours and distractions throughout her journey. However, nothing could affect her life more than the unforeseen encounter and the shocking discovery that has everyone shaking their heads. Purging from darkness to light, from the unknown to known makes it a new season and a new day for Vanessa Dickens. About the Author Paula Blouin was born and raised in Detroit, Michigan. Growing up, she enjoyed ample time playing outdoors with cousins and friends. If she wasn't outdoors, she spent time alone in her room to imagine and create. The epitome of her imagination happened when she wrote stories for her and a best friend to role play with dolls. Paula graduated from Ferris State University with a B.S. degree in Medical Technology, but she is also a ministry school graduate. She served the past twenty plus years in various ministry capacities with her husband in the United States and overseas in London, England. However, her childhood love for stage plays blossomed over the years. She recognized God's tug on her heart to create relatable stories that bring reflection and redemption for the everyday person. Currently, Paula is a servant leader at her local church in Florida. Most importantly she is a wife to her supportive husband David, and she is a mother to her amazing sons J and Jo.
