NOTE: We already have one project under contract with Schacht, A Nietzsche Dictionary, which is long overdue and may never arrive. I want to sign this book up, first because Schacht actually seems enthusiastic about it (unlike his reaction when I mention the Dictionary project), and second because he's one of the very best names in Nietzsche scholarship, with a proven record of being able to do books of this nature. Schacht cannot start work on this project immediately, which is why I'm also delighted to present the proposal for Ansell-Pearson's Nietzsche project. The blurb will be developed in conjunction with Schacht's plan for the book. Suffice it to say that Nietzsche is one of the most popular philosophers in the public eye, with interest cutting across disciplines, methologies, and generations of scholars, with Richard Schacht being one of the foremost Nietzsche scholars writing today (but well known for his ability to explain Nietzsche's dense and aphoristic writing in a clear and well-balanced manner). The book will follow the series brief, focusing on a clear and compelling exposition of a figure's thinking, historical context, and their relevance to human experience today.
