Who would have thought that a mysterious and powerful man who chose to go by the name Mephisto would be more than meets the eye? I did! And yet I still wasn't prepared for what I discovered about him.

He's a wildcard. But with so many people wanting me dead, I need all the friends I can get.

My life is quickly becoming a cornucopia of crap, and I don't need any more enemies or any more trouble. Yet, somehow, I manage to get both when the most powerful vampire in the city hires me for a job.

At first, it seems simple enough. All I have to do is negotiate the acquisition of a weapon that can kill his kind faster than a stake to the heart-without betraying my client or pissing off a vampire, especially the Master of the City.

Of course, being the overachiever that I am, I unintentionally betray my client and piss off the Master of the City.

Now I have a mere seventy-two hours to fix my mistakes, or the Master will claim my life as payment for my failure. And he's made it clear there won't be any renegotiations.
