Niles Beach: The spiritual journey of Thomas M. Quinn, beloved Fordham Law School professor, as told through collected writings

The eldest son of an undertaker, Quinn went on to serve his country in World War II China, become a Jesuit priest, leave the order, and at age forty-six, build a new life.

Before, during, and after the priesthood, he constantly rebalanced the earthly and divine dimensions of his life. His writings reflect this struggle in the form of Biblical passages and sensual experiences-savoring a perfect sapphire in Calcutta; choosing his red mahogany desk; sipping a beer, alone, in a Rome cafe.
