North Atlantic Treaty Organization Enlargement

The US has supported NATO expansion since the early 1990's to both make the organization stronger and foster enhanced regional stability. Research indicates this rationale may be flawed and that NATO enlargement is not in the US national interest; rather, it is time to build a new 21st century security strategy that fosters dialog and diplomacy across Europe, while including Russia to prevent regional competition and forever erasing Stalin's great East-West divide.
