Melvin Pohlkotte spent 65 years promoting Industrial Reliability Services (skill transfer) in a variety of earn-while-you-learn formats. Instructional content utilized, involved books, drawings, video, cd, laser disc, and most recently the web.
In the late 1980's and early 1990's, Melvin Pohlkotte was traveling with and assisting his wife, supporting industrially sponsored apprenticeships in the Southeastern United States (900 companies and 3400 students).
Influenced by governmental pressure industry vacated trade skill training and began funding local community colleges, with the belief that the college would provide work-force readiness. Now, 25+ years later, it hasn't happened.
Our President is now calling or a return to skill training. Unfortunately, we have not produced an adequate supply of industrial journey personnel to manage pay-for-skill initiatives in a number needed to meet the needs of vacant jobs.
America is ready to hire, who wants to invest in themselves, meet workplace minimum expectations, and go to work, debt free.
