War rages across the Nueces Strip.

As the War Between the States engulfs the nation, Texas Ranger Captain Luke Dunn finds himself on a perilous frontier. With the Nueces Strip stretching from Corpus Christi to Laredo and south to Brownsville, the once-lawless prairies are now war-ravaged battlegrounds. Union cannonballs rain on the coast, Mexican bandits raid unguarded settlements, and rogue soldiers abandon their posts for lives of violence and greed.
