Observations on Chaos

Chaos theory has been an official field of study in applied mathematics for over a century. The word "chaos" refers to unpredictability or, psychologically speaking, a state of confusion. It could be argued that our world right now is in a state of chaos-unpredictable, confusing, and even absurd. Every aspect of life has its own version of absurdity-nature, people, places, or science. Turbulence is everywhere ...even in poetry, as identified in author Helen Slade's collection, Observations on Chaos. Slade investigates turbulence of the mind in "A Discourse on Depression." The confusion of pollution is exemplified in "Ruination," and "Boudicca's Curse" outlines the anarchy of war. Is there any way to cease the uproar? Is there a way to calm the chaos? Math posits that the answer is no, but it might be true if humanity rises above science and reason to create unconditional compassion.
