In the area of ordered sets and lattices, Ockham algebras form a natural and very wide generalization of the notion of a boolean algebra. Following pioneering work by Berman in 1977, many papers have appeared in this area of lattice theory to which several important results in the theory of universal algebra are highly applicable. This book provides the first unified account of some of this research, with particular emphasis placed on Priestley's topological duality, which invloves working with ordered sets and order-reversing maps, involving manu problems of a combinatorial nature.
