Off The Block: Volume II

Off The Block: Volume II is the second volume of the Off The Block series. This collection of poems and social criticism is influenced by the streets of Detroit, MI where I grew up and inspired by Harlem Renaissance authors such as Gwendolyn Brooks and Langston Hughes. Beneath the crime, poverty and violence of Detroit is a voice of determination. A voice of struggle. A voice of transcending the odds. This is our voice. Welcome to my block!
