Brigadier General James "Galloping Jim" Parker (1854-1924) had a remarkable and exciting military career. The blunt, opinionated, and brilliant officer participated in several prominent battles, including Ranald Mackenzie's raids against the Kickapoo in 1878, the Ute campaign of 1879, and the Geronimo campaign.
