A
fresh young story with a little touch of drama, suspense and humor all added into one tale. This story gives a new meaning to false rumors. A small town in the Caroliner's has misunderstood one of it's neighbors for many years and has managed to poison the minds of every new family that has moved into the community of the spooky Beckle's house and it's owner. Old Lady Beckles is her name. She has the appearance of an old spell-casting witch. The only thing that was missing was the wart on her nose. Everything seems very normal until the new neighbors moved in, Charlene, Bryan and Beth Courtland are the the three children that changed the old lady's life. A rumor of strange happenings and sightings of different events has caused these three busy bodies to do some investigating of their own. Beth and Bryan were so curious about the rumors that they were moved to sneak of their house, without their parent's permission, only to be caught trespassing on the Beckles property. Frightened and worried, they hurry their selves back home.
Underlining the uncontrollably urge to mingle in other peoples life and also, how such a thing can turn out to be so wrong. And at the same time, their actions show a true concern to uncover the truth and possibly come to the aid of another human being in need. This story demonstrates compassion, understanding and the willingness to share ones own personal time. Charlene sets her own fears aside in order to get to the bottom of all of the nasty tales about what seems to be a helpless old lady and her strange annoying house on the corner. Moreover, Beth and Bryan get a lesson on trespassing that they will never forget. In reading this short story, I hope that we can understand that human welfare comes in all shapes and sizes.
