While not intended to be as chilling as George Orwells old classic, 1984, this end times story takes place a good number of years in the future and gives a picture of how life may have changed. It measures the plausibility of an Armageddon-like end to the world and whether there could actually be the assumed Biblical possibility of being left behind.

The story is told through the lives of ten very different people after another global economic crash, deeper than 2008 from new stimulus spending by more inept governments. The chronicle will tell how several of these individuals, without wanting to, encounter Christianity and why they embrace it, misunderstand it, or reject it.

It will dig into some science and faith issues in the lives of these people, including evolution and creationism. The book will detail efforts to put big government in its place, in order to recapture our personal freedoms. But, it will move into rapidly unfolding drama, as well as a little romance now and then.

The narrative will show how the oil shortage of the 1970s has returned. There will be a tour of the inner workings of a massive oil platform in the rough, stormy Arctic Sea and the startup of a photovoltaic power station. The book will paint a picture of diminishing oil reserves and decades of Middle East tensions over Israel, as a fuse that begins to ignite Armageddon.

The drama will build slowly, as shortages of resources, geopolitical tensions, terrorism, and fateful military moves push the world right up to the doorstep of World War III. The future of our ten people will take an abrupt turn, but one wont be ready.
