Other/Wise

Other/Wise logs a journey of discovery. This third book of poems by Gregory Dunne begins with the poet’s early life in the United States and then tracks his voyage – both geographical and emotional – to Japan, where he has now lived for many years; the volume concludes with a series of clear-sighted and moving poems of family life in the author’s adopted homeland. Here are poems of friendship, marriage, family and vocation; here also are elegies for teachers, friends and parents that explore the dimensions of loss while remaining grounded in the unfolding present.
