Otolaryngology

The branch of medicine which deals with the surgical treatments of ear, nose and throat as well as related structures such as head and neck, is referred to as otolaryngology. Various sub-specialties of otolaryngology include pediatric otolaryngology, laryngology and voice disorders, facial plastic and reconstructive surgery. Pediatric otolaryngology deals with velopalatine insufficiency, cleft lip and palate, as well as vascular malformations. Laryngology and voice disorders include phono-surgery and swallowing disorders.
