Pope Benedict makes clear the Western World is experiencing cultural entropy. Institutions show signs of increasing chaos, loss of energy and emotional grounding. Violence replaces dialogue. Cynicism and sloganeering substitutes for problem solving. "Survival of the fittest" enshrines self-absorbed indifference to others pain. In the ultimate irony, putative leaders argue dissolution is sign of welcomed end times when Higher powers will descend to solve human problems. The outcome will be eternal bliss-for sheep if not goats.
