A wormhole to hell is one man's path to destiny. Penchant for Darkness is a science fiction thriller with paranormal sub-genre, of novella length.

Set in Manila, the story presents a married Filipino couple struggling with infertility who become protagonists caught in a battle between good and evil. Miles Penchant must prepare his body and mind to help mysterious aliens battle their common enemy, Lucifer, who is imprisoned in the ice planet, Clos Friga. 

In an imaginative display of science and fantasy, author J. Elizaga uses astrophysics to explain the energy powering hell. A more intriguing characterization presented is the devil as a rogue artificial intelligence being. In addition, J. Elizaga bases her depiction of hell from the ninth circle of the classic literature, Inferno (Dante Alighieri).
