A note from Yuyi Morales:

I want to make a book that might resemble a board book, even though it is not necessarily a baby book. The direction of the book are the following:

To question the domination of humans over nature
To recognize the embrace of those who came before we did
To celebrate joy and rebellion
And for this I am researching endangered species of the American continent, and my main inspiration is the Honduran river defender and feminist Berta Caceres.
