Performance and Durability of Bituminous Materials

The intensity of modern traffic loading requires that the design and performance of bituminous road surfacing is adequate for their design lives. These requirements are often achieved at very high levels of energy expenditure. This book provides information on new advances in materials and methods, particularly oriented towards the optimization of energy expenditure required for the preparation of aggregates, bituminous binders and bituminous mixtures and the implications which arise with regard to the European specifications and codes of practice. This book forms the proceedings of the symposium held on this topic at Leeds in March 1994.
