Before he could even take his first breath of life, death had already visited him. While three months pregnant, Eddie's mother was shot, and she contemplated whether to fight for her and her unborn child's life.

That moment was just a piece of what was to come in Eddie's life. He faced abuse as a child and depression. Finally finding love, he married, and when he thought he had his happily ever after, divorce reared its ugly head.

After a suicide attempt, he found faith in the Orishas and began his journey of healing.
