Drawing upon more than a decade of research in Asia, Africa and Latin America, this volume addresses the complex inter-relationships that characterize agropastoral production systems - the predominant form of agriculture throughout the developing world. Focusing on the larger socioeconomic and political context of production systems worldwide, the authors set out to demonstrate the necessity for policymakers, scholars and fieldworkers to consider cultivation and stock-raising as two essential halves of one integrated system.
