Although he's half Welsh with his mother coming from Bangor, he has relations in North Wales and is a frequent visitor there.

His interests include art, badminton, and creative writing - inclusive of poems, hymns/carols, lyrics and affirmations. He started his creative writing skills in the mid-1990s, and this has developed well despite having no sign of this when at school.
